About The Artist
Deb Kauzlarich wanted to be an artist as a child. Unfortunately she had absolutely no talent. For years she watched various artists create and wished she was one of them. It was after a trip to Italy that she decided to scrapbook that things changed. Scrapbooking lead from one thing to the next. It was the outlet she needed. Rubberstamping came next. There was finally a way for her to use color and creativity as an outlet without actually having to draw anything! Making beautiful embellished cards eventually lead her into a bead store. And that was that. A fortunate circumstance made jewelry a business instead of just a creative outlet. Much of her jewelry is sold through a gallery in Palm Desert, California
After making jewelry for a few years, she saw an ad for a four hour beginner's lampworking course at a local bead store. She convinced a friend to take it with her. The friend hated the torch but Deb loved it. She fell in love with lampworking but was unable to do more than take a few classes over the next few years.
Reading all the books and magazines she could find about jewelry and lampworking led her to PMC. Ah ha! Another outlet! She has taken several wonderful classes with Celie Fago and did her PMC Certification course with CeCe Wire.
She is currently teaching PMC classes and will be teaching chainmaille classes as well. She looks forward to refining her lampworking skills and continuing to make beautiful one of a kind finished jewelry pieces. She is continually expanding her knowledge and skills by taking classes in lampworking, PMC and metalsmithing.
Deb lives in Chicago, Illinois with her long-suffering partner of 30+ years and a multitude of crazy cats. Deb and Don are frequently entertained by the raccoons, possums and stray cats that come to their yard--known to all the local critters as "The Fur and Feather B&B."
